The Unatti Foundation
Lily and Unatti Foundation founder Stephanie Waisler began their friendship shortly after Lily adopted her eldest daughter, Marcelle. KLP held its first fundraiser to benefit Unatti and is committed to educating the Unatti girls. KLP also auctioned a trip to benefit Unatti at its 2nd Annual Backyard Fundraiser and plans to auction a trip each year. Lily fell in love with Unatti and in 2018 traveled to Nepal meet the girls and visit the school. Her experience there is what helped her make the commitment to starting the KLP and to creating her Name Work project.
Venice Arts provides year long arts programming for neighborhood youth. For the past decade, David and Lily have been lead sponsors in sending children to camp. The Kara Love Project is proud to carry on the partnership with Venice Arts. This summer marks our 10th year benefitting Venice Arts. Lynn Warshafsky, Venice Arts founder is a friend and mentor to Lily and has helped her to do good works in Kara's honor through setting a living example of leadership in the community.
The Dillon Henry Foundation
Lily felt connected to Harriett Zaretsky who also lost a child, her teenaged son Dillon. Lily sees Harriett’s good work in Dillon’s name as something to aspire to. Kelly Mickel, KLP event planner, brought the two mothers together. Kelly and Dillon were dear friends before he passed. The Kara Love Project is an ambassador of the Congo Peace School and held our 2nd Annual Backyard Fundraiser to benefit this wonderful organization and effort.
